Update 3/2/14: I’m on my final draft now, although serious ‘applicants’ are still welcome, it’s now 107 thousand words and I’m purty happy with it! 😀
Hi everyone, I’ve finished my first edit of my novel The Stone and the Stars. It is science-fiction adventure. Keep in mind that does not mean automatic ‘Star Wars’ it means my setting and ideas are not on our Earth.
Unfortunately, I’ve been looking at it so long I don’t know if it’s good or crap anymore! It’s fairly long, 93 thousand words. That’s about 265 pages. I need someone who is up for reading it, and enjoys reading who can tell me honestly: Are the characters- interesting/likeable/believable; how is the pacing- slow/rushed/which parts?; how does it impact you emotionally- blah/okay/interested. Is the ending exciting or too rushed? Are the characters too flat? Just whatever strikes you about it.
Obviously everyone has different opinions about which books they liked and didn’t, that’s why it is helpful to me to hear reasons for liking/not liking either the whole thing or certain parts that need work. If you are willing to read it and give feedback, you could request the first chapter to see if you are interested. Thanks so much 😛
oh yeah here’s a brief synopsis

A despotic Council controls the last of the world’s scientists and technology, using them to create an underground system of cryo-stasis chambers which will hopefully offer a future to a select few. When Aevan comes across a strange artifact that the Council desperately needs, she is thrust into a whirlwind of events that endanger not only her own life, but the lives of all of her people; opening up a possible new future for herself and her race that no one has ever imagined.
